In the small town of Hawkes Hill lay an office building that was abandoned long ago after a string of strange disappearances and odd occurrences. For years the building has been at the centre of local folklore and late night campfire tales, and no one has dared approach out of fear of what lies there. Until a film crew overhears those tales. Desperate for something new, this crew sets out, with the intention of sending the new kid on the crew in to the building to capture footage. Little did they know that the tales could only capture so much of the real horror that lies there...

Found Footage is a short, 1st person horror game that uses psychological elements to create a focused, intense experience. Experience a seemingly abandoned office in an attempt to uncover the truth.

First of all, the atmosphere of the game is rather excellent. From the filter to just the office itself to the little subtle spooks at the beginning, everything here works. And as effective as this was, and as much as I do like the game (and I do), there are two things that hold it back.

For one, the sudden change to maze mechanics at the end. It may just be me, but mazes always seem more annoying than actually scary, especially with no real hints on where to go outside from mannequins that can now suddenly kill you, which, again, only serves to stall the rest of the experience.

The second ? The mannequins. Now, it is not at all necessary to reinvent the wheel with every game, but I feel like Mannequins have been in every third horror game on this site for the last two or so years. It just made me immediately know what to expect, and it never really went elsewhere.

Still, Found Footage IS a delightfully creepy little experience, and you did a fine job on it. Kudos.
